Caterpillar Homework Program
The Caterpillar Homework Club program is designed to provide students in the community with an educational, fun, interactive, and engaging after-school learning experience. This a free after-school program offered Monday through Thursday, 3-5pm, and is provided to students in Pre-K to 8th grade. College interns assist the students in a 2:1 ratio with academic success and reading help. The Caterpillar Homework college interns are enrolled students from a variety of different colleges ranging from Fordham University, Monroe College, Lehman College, Hostos Community College, and Bronx Community College. Additionally, this program includes extracurricular activities that are related to socio-emotional well-being, building social skills, and cooperative learning. Parents and interns meet monthly during
the parent-tutor night conference to discuss student’s progress and room for improvement. The Caterpillar Homework Club program is offered annually and runs from September to June. This program allows non-english speaking parents the opportunity to have their kids attend a free program that offers them the help that parents wouldn’t be able to provide due to the language barriers.
