ESL Program
The mission of the Office of Adult and Continuing Education (OACE) is to empower adults in their roles as parents, family members, workers and community members. The OACE promotes the lifelong learning and the development of the problem solving skills though a continuum of services including: Basic Education, English for speakers of other languages, High School Equivalency (HSE) and Career and Technical Education. The “ESL instruction teaches students basic language skills, as well as the academic and civic skills they need to successfully complete higher education or job training programs. The emphasis is on improving English skills in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Instructional themes include work, family, citizenship, and topics based on student interests.” – New York Office of Adult and
Continuing Education. To take our ESL classes one has to register at: 3450 East Tremont Ave, 3rd Floor Bronx, NY 10465. Those interested may also call the office: 718-663-4057. Participants who sign up for these classes can either choose a location close to them or request to take them at our foundation on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6pm to 9pm for the school year from September to June. ESL Classes are also held during the summer.
